Why This Matters

 Pregnancy and early motherhood are often under-supported, especially for mamas without access to consistent care, education, or community.

In the U.S., there are also significant inequities in maternal health.
Black and Native American women are two to three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes.

1 in 5 women experience a perinatal mood or anxiety disorder.

Research suggests these disparities are strongly influenced by chronic stress, lack of support, and systemic inequities in care.

Ma Yoga exists to expand access to consistent support, movement, education, and community, especially where it is most needed.

Our Story
Ma Yoga was founded by Jessica Jennings while working at Kaiser Permanente in the OB/GYN Department, where she developed and led a prenatal yoga and group visit program as part of a six-year clinical study.

Through this work, she saw how yoga, education, and community can change pregnancies, labors, and lives.

Over years of teaching, she saw this again and again. Mamas felt more confident in their bodies, more prepared for birth, and more supported in recovery.

Ma Yoga was created to make this kind of support more accessible.

What a Ma Circle Looks Like

 A Ma Circle is a small, supportive gathering for pregnant and postpartum mamas, held online and in community spaces.

Each session includes:
  • Simple, supportive yoga for pregnancy and recovery
  • Education for birth and healing
  • Tools to reduce stress and build confidence
  • Connection with other mamas

It’s not just a class, it’s a space to feel supported, informed, and not alone.
